京都、西は妙心寺に建つ和菓子屋。 もともと塔頭が建っていた空き地を店舗建設と共に再整備し、妙心寺で使われている素材を用いることで、景観に寄与するデザインとした。この和菓子屋は妙心寺に配達する菓子を制作する製菓工房であるため、建築面積は50㎡と極小である。 ただし、観光客の多く訪れる春と秋には可動式の京格子を引き出し、客人を饗す喫茶空間が作れるように設計した。屋根はないが、格子による繊細な影が喫茶空間としての場所を生み出す。
