東京都立青山霊園の改修計画。
人口が集中し、無宗教化が進む中、都市においていかに「死」を取り込むかはアーバンプランニングの重要な課題である。
新たに墓地を開発することが困難な今、霊園という既存を更新し、次の世代に受け継げる終焉の場を提案した。
本計画では人口が集中し、こうした問題が著しく現れてくる場所として東京を対象とし、さらにその中心に位置する青山霊園を敷地とした。昨今、新しいスタイルのお墓が出現し始めている状況に対し、霊園という場所を建築的なアプローチによって更新する。具体的にはメモリアルパークのような、少ない面積に多くのお墓を集約することができる壁墓地と自然葬のお墓を霊園に取り入れて約 15,000 基の新規墓地（既存墓碑数と同等）の増設をする。さらに霊園が持っている特徴を読み取りながら霊園内の道や植栽の整備も行っていく。このプロジェクトは5年程の中期計画としており、すこしづつ整備を進めていく。
It is sure the semetery will be change. Population is concentrated, and the No religion increasingly, how capture the "death" is an important issue of urban planning in the city. It is too defficult to build a new cemetery on new site. So this project is renewal the existing cemetery in order to assure the place for the dying people.
This project targets the Tokyo because such a probrem appeares natably in Japan. And I choose the center of Tokyo “Aoyma Cemetery”as the site for proposal.
In recent years, there is situation in which grave is beginning to emerge of the new style. But I redesign the exsting cemetery by the architectural approach. Specifically, such as Memorial Park, add many of the grave of the wall cemetery and Natural burial to be able to get about 15,000 groups (equivalent to the existing tombstone number) . And also carried out the development of roads and planting in the cemetery while reading the features cemetery has. This project is for the medium-term plan of about five years.
